| It was year 1986 when I started to practice art of design and construction. This was specially conceived after 18 years of accumulative experience and expertise locally and abroad. The following year, I was given a chance to work in New Zealand that lasted for ten years, where design practice and philosophy were formed.
I worked with the two known Architecture-Engineering firms, with project involvement in design of hospitals, Airport, Shopping Centers and University Projects under Stephenson & Turner Architects, and Electro-Mech Service Engineers. This firm gave me additional dimension in services engineering principles.
The second firm, Booth, Sweetman & Wolfe, added a lot of challenges being the Senior Designer of Hospitals and Tourism Structures, Factories, and Commercial Kitchen Fit-outs. This firm aside from structural engineering principle gave me the opportunity to handle project and staff management. Winning a design competition under this firm gave me the most fulfilling and rewarding experience.
Came 1997; when I decided to pursue my professional practice in the Philippines. A difficult decision but eventually gratifying one because of my finished and ongoing projects. I was commissioned to design a Convention Center & Casino in Subic International Hotel by the end of year 1997. The next year,
I was employed by TAS Plan Inc. as Senior Architect. As a Japanese firm, our clients are mainly Japanese investors that require factory and those of similar design facilities. We were engaged with local projects as well like the Manila Hotel and Manila Bulletin Plant expansion.
Even I am no longer connected with TAISEI PHILS. CONSTRUCTION INC. at times they still require my services like Toyota Financial Services office fit outs and Toyota Philippines 15,000 sq. m. schematic design of their Head Office. And also invited to document the 67 Storey Condominium in Makati Central Business District Area but eventually TPCI losing to another contractor.
Year 2001 when I decided to fully concentrate on my own practice, tendering my resignation from TAS PLAN is a difficult one because we already developed a nice culture within the staff foreign it may be & local alike. Three years of association with Japanese based firm taught me a lot in terms of working attitude but best of all discipline on how to deliver your product.
